Fried Cake/Cut Cake

Haiii friends...
I am back after a short break.Today I like to share with you people,the recipe of a tea time snack, which is mostly available in Kerala.

Here comes the recipe...

All purpose flour- 1 cup
Semolina - 1/4 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder - 1tsp 
Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
Egg - 1
Oil/Ghee - 1 tbsp
Milk - 1/2 tbsp
Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
Oil

Method:

Sieve together all purpose flour, semolina, baking powder and salt. Add cardamom powder to it. 

Using a mixer, mix egg and sugar well. To this add vanilla essence, milk and ghee/oil.
Add the egg mixture to flour mixture.
Knead it well into a soft dough
Cover it with wet cloth or cling film and keep it aside for 2hrs
Divide the entire dough into 2 portions.
Then roll each portion into 1/2 inch thick rectangular blocks

Then cut small triangles from it

Then make a cut in one of the edges of the triangle.

Heat oil in a pan
When oil become hot, switch it to low flame.
Then fry this triangular cakes till both sides become golden colour.

Tasty fried cake is ready!!!
